Work zone extended as SH 6construction continues

GORMAN – Starting Friday, Feb. 7, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will
be constructing temporary pavement on the north side of SH 6 (Lubbock Street). All traffic will
shift to the north side of SH 6 once the temporary pavement is completed from Cresent Street to
Townsend Street to continue drainage, utilities and road work. Crews expect this configuration to
be in place through early 2026. See diagram below.

The current configuration of the work zone will remain the same as in the previous phases of
construction, other than extending the work zone. See the diagram below.
Please follow all directional signage and watch for crews and equipment in the work zone. Traffic
delays could occur, please plan accordingly.

Work to upgrade drainage structures through this area is ongoing and is expected to be
complete in spring 2025. Various lane closures will occur throughout the duration of
construction. Project updates and possible traffic impacts will be shared as work is scheduled.
