Willie Colene Barnett, age 80, passed away at her home in Wylie, Texas on March 14, 2024.  She was born to her parents Cletous William Newnham and Vera LaVerne Brown on March 18, 1943 in Gorman, Texas.  

Colene is survived by her husband Larry George Barnett, children Pamela Grace and husband David Wheat, Treva Lynn and husband Brad Keith, and grandson Jacob Keith;  niece & nephews Vikki and husband Carlos Miranda, Joe Rex Newnham Jr. and wife Cindy, and Brad Newnham.  She is also survived by sister-in-law Kay Lynn and husband Emmett Lasater, nieces Lori and husband Miley Akers, Whitney and husband Chris McDonald.  She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Joe Rex Newnham, Sr.  

Colene grew up in the Necessity Community, Stephens County, Texas, attended Breckenridge Schools, but moved to Eastland during high school. She graduated from Eastland High School in 1960, and then attended business school.  Colene and Larry were married on January 28, 1961 in Gorman, and recently celebrated their 63rd anniversary.  Colene was an Antique Dealer for over 30 years during her time of work.  They have lived in the Wylie area for the last 51 years.
