BROWNWOOD – After hearing from Texans across the state, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is planning for the future as the agency looks to meet the transportation needs of tomorrow. Through the “Connecting Texas 2050,” the statewide long-range transportation plan, TxDOT toured the state last year to get input on multimodal transportation needs and potential strategies to meet those needs through 2050. TxDOT now has a draft plan available for review.
To facilitate public feedback on the draft plan, TxDOT will hold a statewide virtual public hearing on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at 5:30 p.m. Central Daylight Time (CDT) online and via phone. Find out how to join the hearing online or by phone at www.ConnectingTexas2050.com.
The purpose of the statewide virtual public hearing on “Connecting Texas 2050” is for participants to learn about the process to prepare a statewide long-range transportation plan, review the draft plan and provide written or verbal comments.
Texans’ feedback is vital as the agency plans for the future in an ever-changing transportation system. Top priorities we heard from the public last year were the need for safety, alternative modes and public transportation options, and maintenance of existing infrastructure.
