TxDOT to Host Virtual and In-Person Public Meetings for Proposed Relocations of I-20 Ramps

CISCO – TxDOT’s Brownwood District invites the public to participate in a virtual public meeting along with an in-person meeting opportunity, for the proposed I-20 ramps relocation project, which includes discussion of entry and exit ramps within the city limits of Cisco in Eastland County.

The pre-recorded public meeting will be available on Thurs., Aug. 4 by noon, visit TxDOT.gov and search “I-20 ramps relocation project” to view.

The in-person meeting will be held from 5:30-7:30 PM on Thurs., Aug. 4, at the Cisco ISD Cafeteria (located at 1300 Pershing Street, Cisco, TX 76437).

The proposed project considers the need for relocation or reconstruction of entry/exit ramp relocations within the Cisco area (see map below). TxDOT has received a preliminary study of ramp safety, clearance, capacity needs, and ramp length of all ramps on the I-20 corridor in Texas including the portion within the Brownwood District.

The purpose of a ramp project is to improve the safety and mobility of the travelling public entering and exiting I-20. In some locations, a proposed ramp project would, subject to final design considerations, require additional right of way. A project has not been identified; therefore, construction timing is not yet known.

The virtual and in-person meeting opportunity will be conducted in English. For those who need an interpreter or document translator because English is not their primary language or they have difficulty communicating effectively in English, one will be provided. For those who have a disability and need assistance, special arrangements can be made to accommodate most needs. At the in-person public meeting, those who need interpretation or translation services or for those with a disability who require an accommodation to attend and participate in the in-person open house, please contact Lisa Tipton, at 325-643-0413 no later than 4 p.m. CT, Thursday, July 28, 2022. Please be aware that advance notice is required as some services and accommodations may require time for TxDOT to arrange.
