Traffic pattern changes, extension inwork zone as drainage work continues

GORMAN – Beginning Friday, February 21, 2025, weather permitting, the Texas Department of
Transportation (TxDOT) will extend the work zone on FM 8 (S Fisher Street). Traffic will be
shifted from S Fisher Street to the west side of the roadway, from Houston Street to SH 6
(Lubbock Street), to continue drainage work. During this time, northbound Houston Street will
be closed at S Fisher Street. This traffic pattern is scheduled to remain in place through mid-2025.

The current configuration of the work zone will remain the same as in the previous phases of
construction other than the traffic shift and work zone extension on S Fisher Street. See the
diagram below.

Please follow all directional signage and watch for crews and equipment in the work zone. Traffic
delays could occur, please plan accordingly.

Work to upgrade drainage structures through this area is ongoing and is expected to be
complete in spring 2025. Various lane closures will occur throughout the duration of
construction. Project updates and possible traffic impacts will be shared as work is scheduled.
