An Emergency Stage 4 Water Restriction has been ordered by the Eastland County Water Supply District. A 40% reduction in water usage is necessary.
The City of Eastland sent out a release stating that Stage 4 water restrictions include: “NO outdoor watering of any kind. This includes watering of grass, washing of cars, sidewalks, driveways, buildings, etc. NO filling of swimming pools.”
The City of Eastland and City of Ranger along with all water supplies purchasing water from those 2 entities are affected by the Emergency Stage 4 water restrictions.
The following press release was sent out this morning from the Eastland County Water Supply District:
The Eastland County Water Supply District Board of Directors have activated
Emergency Stage 4 of the Drought Contingency Plan, due to an unforeseen
mechanical failure at the raw water intake tower. This stage of the plan
requires an immediate 40% reduction in water usage until further notice.
Lake Leon water levels and conditions continue to deteriorate as the lake
conservation storage decreases.ECWSD will continuously monitor this situation by evaluating lake elevations
and a daily usage report will be supplied to the City of Eastland and City of
Ranger on a weekly basis..
The City of Eastland has sent out the following:
Effective immediately the City of Eastland will enter Stage 4 of the drought contingency plan. This is due to a mechanical issue with our water supply. We are working with our partners at the Eastland County Water Supply District, City of Ranger and others to fix the issue that we are facing. Until then, the City of Eastland will enter stage 4 water restrictions. Stage 4 water restrictions include:
NO outdoor watering of any kind. This includes watering of grass, washing of cars, sidewalks, driveways, buildings, Etc.
NO Filling of swimming pools.
A 40% reduction of our overall water usage is necessary until we can reestablish our water intake needs. Thank you for your cooperation. We are working hard to correct this as soon as possible.
From the City of Ranger:
Effective immediately the City of Ranger will enter Stage 4 of the drought contingency plan in accordance with Ordinance 2019-05-13-B and City of Ranger Drought Contingency Plan. This is due to a mechanical issue with our water supply. We are working with our partners at the Eastland County Water Supply District, City of Ranger and others to fix the issue that we are facing. Until then, the City of Ranger will enter stage 4 water restrictions. Stage 4 water restrictions include:
NO outdoor watering of any kind. This includes watering of grass, washing of cars, sidewalks, driveways, buildings, athletic fields, and cemeteries. Crop irrigation and bulk water sales are prohibited.
NO Filling of swimming pools
A 40% reduction of our overall water usage is necessary until we can reestablish our water intake needs. Thanks you for your cooperation. We are working hard to correct this as soon as possible.
