Sybil Celestine (Carleton) Canner went to be with the Lord Wednesday, November 24, 2023 in Fort Worth, TX.   

Sybil was born August 17, 1943 in Marfa, TX to Wilson Hudson Carleton and Celestine (Ball) Carleton. She was an LVN at Eastland Memorial Hospital for over 30 years and retired from her long-standing career in 2012. She loved her cats, music, Pink Floyd was one of her many favorites, as well as thrift shopping and being outdoors. Sybil would sit on her porch listening to the wind chimes, the sound of nature and watching “her critters” the deer and other animals who would go and visit. She was a devoted member of Bethel Baptist Church. Sybil absolutely adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved visiting when she was able. She was loved by all and will be sorely missed.

Those left to cherish her memory are a son: Michael Myers of Austin, TX; two daughters: Janelle McElyea and husband Gary of Fort Worth, TX and Tracy Derick and husband Tom of Buda, Il, and sister: Martha June Gardner and husband Jim of Tenino, WA. Sybil also leaves behind five grandchildren: Corey Smith, Sarah McElyea, Eric Myers, Sarah Milnes, Samantha Milnes, Stefie Stodghill and husband Tony as well as fourteen great-grandchildren, her cat: Chloe, and numerous loving nieces, nephews and friends. Sybil is preceded in death by her parents; husband: Bill Canner and two sisters: Yvonne Myers and Eleanor Martin.

Sybil Celestine Canner will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her. Visitation will be held November 29th, 2023 at Edwards Funeral Home from 5-7:00 PM. Services will be held November 30th, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Bethel Baptist Church in Eastland, burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
