Rebecca “Becky” Ann Tibbels

Our beautiful, lovely mother, aunt, and sister, known as “Becky” to family and friends lost her battle with stage 4 cancer on October 4, 2024, with her two daughters and family by her side.

Rebecca was born in Gorman, Texas on March 15, 1961 to Denver Stagner, Sr. of Ranger, Texas and Nellie Mae (Exline) of Cisco, Texas.

 Becky grew up most of her life in Ranger where she graduated from Ranger high school, class of 1979. continuing her career, she attended and graduated from Ranger Jr. College in 1981 and was a member of the Eastside Baptist Church. She also worked at some local businesses such as Bruner drilling, Ranger hospital, along with child care with her mother, leading towards the employment with the State of Texas Health & Human Resources in Eastland with eventually working at home as an IT technology SS IV Specialist for 23 years and retiring September 2024. She was awarded a Texas State flag that was flown over the state capitol for her retirement.

 Becky’s hobbies were: she loved to read, bake, sewed unicorns on maypoles for craft shows with her sister and mother. She loved attending medieval shows and restaurants, and dressing up every Halloween in costumes for competing in contests. Her biggest fad was researching her Scottish genealogy along with the listening to bagpipes playing.

Becky was preceded in death by her parents, Denver Stagner Sr., and Nellie Mae (Exline) Stagner from Ranger, Texas, Two sisters-in-law; Mary Stagner of Gore, Oklahoma and Ladonna Stagner of Ranger, Texas along with two brothers-in-law; Richard Smock of Eastland, Texas, Robert Sybesma of Ranger, Texas. Survivors include two daughters; Paige Nicole Tibbels of Ranger, Texas and Brooke Michelle Tibbels of Fort Worth, Texas; two sisters, Betty (Stagner) Smock, Wilma Sybesma with Danny Roberts of Ranger, Texas, three brothers; Denver Stagner, Jr., Bill Stagner of Ranger, Texas and James Stagner with Peggy Stagner of Hensley, Arkansas, eight nieces; Alisha Watson, Sandra Wuorinen, Anessa Billingsley, Jennifer Foraker, Lynelle Skaggs, Amanda Roberts, Melissa Bailiff, Jolynn Erwin, two nephews; Ray Stagner and Philip Stagner. All the great nieces, nephews, cousins, who loved their “aunt Becky”.

Funeral services will be held at the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Ranger, Texas on Sunday, October 6, 2024 at 2:00 PM with Ronny Guess officiating. Interment will follow at the Colony Cemetery on FM Highway 101 Ranger, Texas.

Pallbearers will be Chad Watson, Gunner Watson, Danny Roberts, Kevin Bedford, Ray Stagner, Chris Wuorinen.

Our family would like to extend a big “thank you!” and our deepest appreciation to “Wings Over Texas,” Hospice along with Alisha Watson and staff from “Walnut Street Clinic,” all the funds donated and fundraisers the excellent care of our sister/aunt/mom, Rebecca Ann Tibbels.
