Philip Delgado, age 89, passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2024. Local arrangements are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home Strawn.
Philip Delgado born December 10,1934 in Strawn, Texas to Margarito and Camila Delgado.
He had four brothers, Joe Delgado, Frank Delgado, Paul Delgado, and Tony Delgado; nine sisters, Nell Veda McGough, Mary Carlin, Claudia Monti, Lucy Tretter, and Lenora Gutierrez; brothers-in-law, Pat Eagen, Charles Conway, Lawrence Tretter, Jack McGough, Lupe Carlin, and Jorge Monti; and sisters-in-law, Opal Delgado and Lilo Delgado all that preceded him in death.
Philip has four living sisters, Rose Eagen of San Leandro, CA, Mary Louise Conway of Strawn, TX, Juanita Frazier of Ft. Worth, TX, and Angelina Salinas of Austin, TX; 28 nieces and nephews; 57 great nieces and nephews; and 55 great-great nieces and nephews.
His favorite pastime was hanging out at his favorite niece’s restaurant, Mary’s Café in Strawn, Tx. Mary made sure he had his bowl of beans and coffee. The family knew where to find Uncle Philip, at Mary’s Café front table.
He will be missed dearly, yelling at one of us or hearing him say “Oh you talk too much”. Uncle Philip rest in peace.
