EASTLAND – Patrick Henry “Pat” Collins passed from this life to the next on Friday, July 1, 2022. He was born in Olden, Texas on November 14, 1934 to William Henry Collins and Velma Collins.
Local arrangements are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home Eastland. A memorial service is set for 2:00 PM July 16, 2022 at Leon River Cowboy Church in Olden; a visitation will begin at 1:00 PM.
He was a high school graduate of Carbon High School and married his high school sweetheart, Patsy Norris.
Earlier in his life, Pat was a newspaper printer and later became Editor of the Ranger Times. He decided on a career change to working as a Radiology Technician for the Ranger and Eastland Hospitals. After retirement, he worked years for the Bakker and Edwards Funeral Homes.
Pat was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He was a Past Master of Carbon, Ranger and Eastland lodges. He received several Masonic awards over the years including The Golden Trowel Award for devoted service to principles of the Masonic Lodge. He received the Outstanding Citizen Award in Ranger.
Pat was gifted with a magnetic personality and sense of humor.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy; sons, Brad and Patrick; brothers, D.M., Bob, Joe, and Mike Collins; and sister, Betty Wilson.
He is survived by his son, Bill Collins and wife Becky; grandchildren, Zach Collins and his wife Courtney, Heath Collins, and Bradley Collins. Also, great-grandchildren, Austin, Esther, Joshua, Jude, Warren, and Wyatt Collins.
