With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Patricia Ann Schafer, (affectionately known as Gigi) who left this world peacefully on April 21, 2025, at her home in Eastland, Texas, at the age of 80. She was born on May 26, 1944, in Ranger, Texas, to Robert & Myrtle Duggan. Patricia married James Schafer on August 16, 1965. Together they built a life that eventually brought them to Eastland in 1985. She enjoyed spending time with family, especially with her grand kids and great-grand kids. She loved attending all their activities. Gigi was surrounded by a faithful family who was always willing to care for her in her time of need.

Patricia is survived by her husband, James Schafer; a son, Brian Schafer and wife, Shea; grandson, Rodney McCormick and wife, Shelby; granddaughters, Crystal Harris and husband, Ronnie, Kaitlyn Edwards and husband, James, Haley Johnson and Bailee Johnson; Great-grandchildren, Kevin and Collin Harris and Emery and Ellery Edwards. She is also survived by a brother, Garry Duggan; three sisters, Martha Burns, Jettie Butler and Linda Nichols as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Myrtle Duggan; a sister, Frances Agnew, five brothers, Gerald, Bobby, Donald, Ray and Larry Duggan. A daughter-in-law, Lora Schafer along with numerous in-laws.

Pallbearers are: Kevin Harris, James Edwards, Barry Nichols, Tyler Duggan, Raymond Duggan and Delton Petty.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at 10:00am at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel Eastland with Chris Schafer and Glenn Clark officiating. Interment will follow at Eastland City Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025 from 5:00PM until 7:00PM at the funeral home.
