Eastland -Maxcine Rowch 8/30/1923 – 7/13/2022
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Eastland Cemetery in Eastland.
Born in Desdemona, Eastland County, Texas the 7th of 8 children of parents Jesse L. and Georgia Staley Hughes.
Maxcine became a Christian at age 13. She graduated from Desdemona High School in 1940. She married Paul Eugene (Gene) Rowch on 3/15/1941 in Strawn, TX. They lived in Olden and Holliday Texas and moved to Rosenberg, TX in 1968. While living there she became an LVN at the age of 49. She worked at Polly Ryan Hospital and 2 different nursing homes for 7 years. After her husband’s retirement they moved back to Eastland. He died 9/19/1981. She worked in the hospital and 2 other nursing homes there for 10 years. She also started taking art classes and learned to paint with oils. In 1991 she moved to Midland, TX. There she worked for Infusions Plus and M&J Sitters, retiring in 2000. She loved to travel and went to several foreign countries. She also made several trips to Guatemala with Health Talents International as a health care volunteer. In Midland, she became a Foster Grandparent in the pre-K classes for MISD and enjoyed that for several years. She also volunteered at The Texas Sized Garage Sale for many years.
Survivors include: Her daughter, Doris Cooper and her husband D.L. (Butch) Cooper of Midland, TX, 5 Grandchildren: Deani Cooper (Amr Fahmy) of Foxboro, MA., Denise Jones (Michael Martinez) of Midland, TX., Amy Dutcher (Kenny Dutcher) of Kingsland, TX., Cathie Medley (Jeb Medley) of Owensboro, KY., and Jeffrey Rowch of Elizabethtown, KY. 13 Great Grandchildren: Sarah Fahmy, Amina Fahmy, Youssef Fahmy, Caleb Jones (Whitney), Nathan Jones, Joshua Cloyd, Chantal Dutcher, Hallie Marie Medley, Parker Medley, Samantha Rowch, Miranda Rowch, Tamara Rowch and Leah Rowch. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband Paul Eugene (Gene) Rowch, her son Henry Ernest (Ernie) Rowch, daughter in law Conchita Cabral Rowch, and her seven siblings.
