RANGER- Martha Marie Slatton, 77, entered her eternal home on Friday, August 16, 2024, at the Ranger Care Center surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at 11:00 am at Cross Point Community Church in Ranger with Buster Robinson officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Ranger. Services are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Ranger.
Martha was born on January 27, 1947 in Kermit, Texas to Clarence Edward and Martha Lee (Anderson) Slatton. Martha worked at Vassarett in Eastland and Russell Newman in Cisco for many years. At the encouragement of her mother, she then went to nursing school and became a Registered Nurse practicing for over 20 years. She loved caring for her patients in the nursing home, home health and hospice. Martha was a believer in Christ and her faith was near and dear to her. She is now rejoicing in Heaven.
Survivors include two daughters; Belinda Williams of Ranger, Sheri Blackwood and husband, James of Ranger; a sister, Linda Lyons and husband, Buddy of Lake Whitney; four granddaughters, Ashley McKee, Amanda Gray, Christina Stewart and Stephanie Blackwood; 12 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Martha Slatton and husband, Walter Ralston.
Pallbearers are; Bill Moseley, Brad Robinson, Rick Hines, Trey Lyons, Elton McCoy and Buddy Lyons.
Honorary pallbearers are; Ron Hooks and James McKee.
