EASTLAND – Beginning on Monday, Mar. 4, 2024, the Texas Department of Transportation will close the inside eastbound lane on Interstate Highway 20 (I-20) near CR 494 in Eastland County. This closure will begin at 7 a.m. Monday and will continue through early spring. Additionally, the picnic area and its access ramps will be closed. TxDOT expects to reopen the picnic area and ramps once the eastbound bridge reconstruction is completed.

Traffic delays are expected, motorists are advised to plan accordingly.

TxDOT closed the westbound outside lane in this area earlier this month. These lane closures are needed for bridge deck repairs ahead of traffic shifts, see diagram below. Once the repairs are complete, TxDOT will shift traffic to the westbound side. More information will be shared as work and these traffic shifts are scheduled.
