Kenneth Lee Chapman, 69, passed away on January 26, 2025.
He was born on February 22, 1955 to Travis and Nancy Chapman. He grew up on a farm in Callahan County where he learned about raising crops and cattle and about how to “fix” things. Kenneth worked at Fink’s Mobil in Cisco and then Perkin’s Implement while in high school in Putnam, Texas.
After graduation, he continued working at Perkin’s while developing at knack for working on motorcycles. He married his high school sweetheart in May 1973.
In 1978 he started Ken’s Motorcycle Shop at 411 East Main Street and he moved his shop to 1304 East Main in March of 1990. In late 1990, he started Grandpaw’s Tool Shed Rental with his dad. After his father’s death in 1992, Ken continued to grow the business, which provided much needed items from small to very large. In 2005, he started Grandpaw’s Outhouse to rent porta johns.
Ken worked hard but also played hard. He enjoyed water skiing, motorcycle riding, snow skiing and scuba diving. He strived to include others, and help them to learn as well. Ken (Aka Burr, Goldie, Pawpaw) was actively involved with Jaycees and Lion’s Club, since 1991. He served on Eastland Co. Water Board for 22 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Linda; sister, Brenda Collins.
He is survived by his wife of 51 yrs, Delores; daughters, Heather Chapman and husband, Corey and Phylicia Chapman and husband, Brandon; grandsons, Bryson Monroe Webb and Hudson Kenneth Lane; two brothers, Terry and Larry.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 30th from 6~8 pm at Edwards Funeral Home. Services will be at the First Baptist Church on Friday, January 31, 2025 at 2 pm, followed by burial at Eastland City Cemetery.
