Greetings
My name is James Doyle, and I am asking for your vote on May 6 for the Eastland City Commission. I am currently working on the Eastland Economic Development Board and Planning & Zoning Board which I have served for 5 years. I also volunteer with our Eastland Hospital Volunteers and on our Chamber of Commerce Board. I was born in 1961 at our Eastland Hospital and graduated in the EHS class of 1979. I am currently employed at Atmos Energy for the past 40 years. My wife Nancy and I have 7 children and 14 grandchildren and we attend the Daugherty Street Church of Christ.
I have not always lived in Eastland. With my career I have lived in Fredericksburg, Temple/Belton, Flower Mound/Lewisville, and Plano cities. I have always been involved with those local governments in some form or fashion. When I had the opportunity to return to my hometown, I set a personal goal to be involved and volunteer in Eastland. I was raised and was taught my values and culture from Eastland Educators and parents of many friends and families. My goal was to give back my personal lessons and experiences, to the citizens of Eastland, who gave me those lessons as a child and young man.
I want to improve and help rebuild our current infrastructure. Water, sewer, electricity, and gas. And let’s not forget a huge important utility that has changed all our lives and the way we teach, work, and recreate with, that is high speed internet. All these infrastructure factors will help Eastland bring more jobs and stability. What finances these infrastructure improvements? The answer to that question is rates and taxes. These rates and taxes are set by the Corporations and local Governments, and that impacts us all. I know that to keep these rates at an affordable price, we need more support through jobs and opportunities for growth. But to sustain these jobs and growth we must have the infrastructure.
My three most important goals are: Safety, Financial, and Customer Service.
We are extremely blessed today to have our local law enforcement, fire department and medical support. We are one of very few that still have a local hospital. Financially, the staff that support our city with the services we depend on are very important to us as citizens as well as the careers to those families. Customer Service to listen to you and help make solid and smart decisions for our city.
If elected I will work to improve infrastructures, bring jobs, and keep rates and taxes affordable, provide the tools, equipment, and training that our First Responders need, and listen to the citizens of Eastland for the positive intent they desire.
I will appreciate your vote on May 6, and I thank each of you for being a voice in Eastland Tx.
