In Loving Memory of Ashley Nichole Greene

It is with profound sadness that we mourn the loss of a beloved wife, devoted mother, and cherished daughter, sister, and friend, Ashley Nichole Greene. On Friday, July 7, 2023, Ashley’s valiant battle with leukemia came to an end leaving behind a community of loved ones who will forever cherish her memory.

Born on April 15, 1985, in Athens, TX, Ashley was a bright and compassionate soul from the very beginning. She graduated from Eastland High School in 2003 and continued her education in nursing. Nothing was more important to her than spreading joy to the people around her and cherishing time with family. Ashley grew up in and valued her close-knit family, and the surrounding love and support shaped her into the remarkable woman she became. Ashley possessed an unwavering determination and a radiant spirit that touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. 

Ashley could nurture anything from the ground up. She loved gardening beautiful flowers and fresh vegetables to share with her family. No one was more easy-going and patient when it came to resolving issues. Ashley made every situation better with her sense of humor and resilience. She would spend any free moment she had outside with her babies or cooking and baking special pastries for her family. She would do anything to take care of the people around her and make them happy. Ashley is survived by her three beautiful children; Dagan, Slayde and Emrie, who were her main focus in life. She poured all of her love and energy into ensuring their happiness and well-being. Her patience and selflessness will continue to guide and protect their hearts as she watches them from heaven above.

Standing by her side throughout her battle was her loving and adoring husband, Cullen Greene, and her devoted mother and father, Janice Walker and Dennis Walker. Ashley is also survived by her loving sisters Megan Smith, Chelsea Lee, Misty Walker, and Raechelle Shearin with husband Tim Shearin and her brother Tristan Lee.  

In addition to being a dedicated mother and loving wife, Ashley was a dear friend to many and had the ability to nurture anything from the ground up. The countless hours she spent volunteering with the Woodbridge Church show the light she had inside and how important it was for her to share her faith and love for God. Ashley shared her compassionate heart with her community serving as an LVN surgical nurse and co-owner of Knotty Edge cabinetry alongside her husband. Her bright smile and contagious laughter could help anyone through the adversities of life. 

Ashley’s spirit and unwavering courage became an inspiration to all who knew her. She fought her battle with leukemia bravely, never allowing her illness to define or diminish her incredible spirit. Ashley’s resilience taught us the value of cherishing every single moment and finding strength even in the darkest of times. 

Along with her immediate family, Ashley is blessed with many grandparents Wanda Billington, John Billington, Jimmie Lee, Betsy Newton, Norma Jeanne and Jimmie Lee, Betsy and Gary Greene, Barbara and Warren Bailey. In-laws: Caryn and Russ Greene, Lisa and Keith Bailey. Sisters-in-law: Cassye and husband Ken Roark and Jali and husband Jalen Garza. Ashley is loved and survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and a multitude of friends. 

Pallbearers include: Cullen Greene, Dagan Greene, Slayde Greene, Megan Smith, Chelsea Lee, Jared Billington, Shane Newman, Chris Newman, and Russ Greene.

Honorary pallbearers include: Allen Billington, Donald Billington, Trulon Billington, Gary Billington, Ken Roark, Jalen Garza, William Green, Nick Hitt, James Hallmark, Jason Marks, Rahemin Robinson, Brett Lister, Austin Holt, Erik Hartzler, Ken Roark, and James Dye. 

As we gather to bid farewell to Ashley, it is with a heavy heart, but also one filled with gratitude for the privilege of having shared a part of our lives with her. While her physical presence may be gone, her spirit will forever live on through her children and the countless memories she leaves behind. She will forever be remembered as a beacon of light, a remarkable woman whose impact on our lives will never fade. 

May Ashley find eternal peace knowing that her loved ones will forever hold her close in their hearts. Rest in peace, sweet Ashley, your legacy and love will endure forever. 

Ashley’s viewing will be held at Edward’s Funeral Home in Eastland on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, from 5-7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Woodbridge Church in Ranger on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at 2 p.m. Burial will be at Eastland Cemetery following the funeral service. All who wish to celebrate her life and pay their respects are cordially invited to join the family during this time of remembrance.
