Texas Family Defense Committee invites you to meet Evelyn Brooks, candidate for State Board of Education District 14, on Thursday, October 27. She will speak in the “Big Dam Room” of the Myrtle Wilks Community Center, 1498 West I 20, Cisco. Doors open at 5:30; the meeting begins at 6:00 p.m.
Evelyn takes great pride in her 23+ years of work in education. This experience includes classroom teaching, tutoring, homeschooling, mentoring, founding of a small Frisco homeschool program, a summer STEM science youth camp program, and working as a youth development facilitator. She worked as an elementary educator for several years, and has worked in urban and suburban school districts, while consistently raising the standards for student learning in her classrooms.
Evelyn’s vast and varied teaching experiences qualify her for the Texas State Board of Education position because she can differentiate between a challenging and quality education system, and a failed education system. She knows how to select an effective curriculum that challenges children to achieve academic excellence, while inspiring high moral standards that promote Texas family values. She currently serves on several Boards: International Rock of Faith, Children’s Chorus of Collin County, Waterford Falls HOA, Beauman’s 2nd Chance 4 Change, Life Talk Advisory Board, and as a Facilitator for Foundation For CHOICE.
Evelyn is outspoken and not afraid to defend children’s health and innocence when making educational decisions for them. She dedicates her life serving the needs of the nation’s most vulnerable people, children. Her goal is to protect children and their families from overreaching governmental programs that do not serve youth.
Due to redistricting the November 8 general election for District 14 includes Bosque, Clay, Comanche, Coryell, Eastland, Ellis, Erath, Hamilton, Hill, Jack, McLennan, Mills, Montague, Navarro, Palo Pinto, Wise and parts of Dallas, Denton and Johnson counties.
