With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the sudden passing of Ella Elizabeth (Kellum) Turnbow (64) of Ranger, TX, on February 4, 2025, after a hard-fought battle with an aggressive pancreatic cancer.
Ella was born on March 1,1960 to James “Jim” Kellum and Rosalie (Walker) Kellum in Roseburg, Oregon. She was a loving mother, wife, sister, daughter, friend and grandmother who thrived on spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Ella was grounded in her faith and an active member of the Eastside Church of Christ in Ranger. She had a kind and giving heart and was well known for helping others and had a heartfelt connection with all animals. Ella had a beautiful voice and was passionate about music. She enjoyed singing her favorite hymns as well as playing the piano, organ, harmonica, and other instruments.
It was no secret Ella was an exceptional cook, who very often spoiled those around her with unforgettable meals. In her free time, you could find her trying out a new recipe, watching a new sci-fi/ fantasy series with her pups (Pooter and Little Girl) by her side, or cruising around town with her beloved husband. Ella was truly a free spirit that loved to laugh and will be missed immensely by those who got the chance to know her.
Ella is preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Rosalie Kellum, and brother, Gene Kellum. She is survived by her husband Mike Turnbow, children Kaci Bowen, Jeremy Hoover and partner Kali, grandchildren Kinley, Scotlynn, and Remy, brother Dale Kellum, sister Gladys Bachmeier, as well as extended family Scott Hoover and Joyanne Hathcock, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
There will be a visitation at Edwards Funeral Home in Ranger, TX on February 10, 2025, from 1-2 pm and she will be laid to rest at the Colony Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
