It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Elida Iris Hernandez Ashworth, 66, a cherished mother, grandmother, and sister, who left this world on November 10, 2024, in Ranger, Texas. Elida, born on May 5, 1958, in Ranger, Texas, was adored by her daughter Robin Tice of Gordon, and her beloved grandson Zephyr Tice of College Station.
Throughout her life, Elida found joy in simple pleasures, such as cooking and canning the bounties of her garden, tending to her yard, and indulging in her passion for True Crime and Court shows. She also found excitement in occasional visits to the casinos. However, her most significant source of pride and happiness was her grandson, Zephyr, who brought immense light into her world.
Elida, a Print Shop Owner in the printing industry and a devoted sister to Earl Hernandez and wife, Rhonda of Amarillo, Steve Hernandez of Republic, Missouri, Polo Hernandez of Rio Vista, Rueben Hernandez of Ranger, Tino Hernandez and wife, Clara of Ranger, Trancito Hernandez of Ranger, Mary Pelfrey of Ranger and Lupe Franco and husband, Joe of Pflugerville, enriched the lives of all those around her with her warmth and kindness.
In honor of Elida’s memory, a Memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on November 16, 2024 at Edwards Funeral Home in Ranger, Texas, officiated by Steve Herod.
Elida’s legacy of love and laughter will forever be cherished by those who knew her. May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love of her family and friends.
Elida was preceded in death by: her parents, Trancito Hernandez and Alejandrina Escarsega Hernandez.
