The Eastland Police Department is aware of an explicit image of a juvenile that is being sent around the internet.  This image is being accompanied by allegations of rape and murder, being made against the juvenile that are not true and are not being investigated by the police.  The person sending these messages and images is under investigation for multiple felony offenses, that include the distribution of child pornography.  This is a criminal who is trying to scam a juvenile. 

This announcement is being made to notify the public that what is being posted is not true.  We would like the parents of our community to speak with their children about the dangers of the internet and let their children know there are a lot of people on the internet that are there to cause harm and scam people.   

If you receive the image, which we are aware is being sent on Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat, it needs to be reported to the Eastland Police Department.  Do not send this image to anyone if you receive it.
