If you’re a hepcat you’ll want to be in downtown Eastland on Saturday, April 9th for the Eastland Jazz Festival held in conjunction with Rip’s Ribs Cook-Off. All events are free and open to the public.
The first festival performance by Howard Payne University Jazz Band will begin at 9 a.m. Closing the festival will be the Eastland High School Jazz Band at 5 p.m. in the Lyric on S. Lamar St. Two stages will host high school and college jazz bands throughout the day. Stage 1 is on the south side of the Eastland Courthouse and stage 2 will be in front of the Eastland Centennial Library on the corner of S. Lamar St and W. Olive St.
Hang around after the Jazz Festival for a free Swing Dance Crash Course at 5:30 p.m. and then use that lesson to Swing Dance to some Live Music at 6 p.m. featuring the Eastland Jazz Festival Clinicians.
