In loving memory of Dorothy B. McFaddin, age 85, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Dorothy passed away on September 21, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and adventure. She shared a passion for travel and exploration with her beloved husband, Don, embarking on countless journeys together. Their RV adventures to Alaska held a special place in her heart, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
Dorothy was born on May 26, 1939 in Palo Pinto, Texas. A graduate of Mineral Wells High School in 1957, Dorothy’s commitment to personal growth was evident throughout her life. She married Robert Don McFaddin on June 18, 1959 in Palo Pinto. She was a member of Palo Pinto Baptist Church.
Dorothy will be deeply missed by her daughters, Linda McFaddin of Carrollton and Rebecca Hawley of Paradise, as well as her sister, Betty Walker of Mineral Wells and her four grandchildren. Their lives were forever changed by her presence, love, and unwavering support.
To honor Dorothy’s life and memory, a public viewing will be held at Edwards Funeral Home in Strawn on September 26, 2024, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Following this, a graveside service will take place at New Gordon Cemetery on September 27, 2024, at 2:00 pm.
As we bid farewell to Dorothy Belle McFaddin, may we carry her spirit of adventure, love, and faith in our hearts, forever grateful for the time we shared with her. May she rest in peace, knowing she was deeply cherished by all who knew her.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Don McFaddin, parents, L.S. and Maudie Maye Goree, son in law, Tony Guthrie, brother, James William Goree, and sister, Nelva Mae Blue.
Pallbearers will be Glenn Hawley, Garrett Hawley, and Dylan Hawley.
