Donald Gregory Couger, known to family and friends as Greg, passed away Monday, March 17, 2025 at his home in Mineral Wells, Texas. Services will be held Friday, March 21 at 11:00 a.m. at Cedar Springs United Methodist Church in Brad, Texas with Rev. Tom Beatty officiating. The family will receive friends and family at the Edwards Funeral Home in Strawn, Texas on Thursday, March 20 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Greg was born on February 5, 1957, to Mack Couger and Shirley Evans Couger in Breckenridge, Texas. He graduated from Ranger High School in 1975. He married Nancy Elizabeth Shubert on July 21, 1979. They were married for thirty-three years, until her death in July 2012. He married Pamela Durst Caudle on April 30, 2015. Greg was a compressor mechanic by trade, working in the natural gas industry for over 40 years. He enjoyed shooting guns, hunting, fishing, and piddling around as he called it. He was a hard worker with a quick-witted sense of humor and loved to joke around, all traits he instilled in his children.

Greg was a member of Cedar Springs United Methodist Church in Brad. He loved the Lord and by example, led his children to love the Lord.

Greg is preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Evans Couger, his maternal grandparents Bruce and Evelyn Evans, his paternal grandparents Winfred and Leo Couger, each of whom made a great impact on his life, and his wife Nancy Elizabeth Couger.

He is survived by his loving wife Pamela Couger of Mineral Wells; children, Shad Kline of Gordon, Jake Couger of Gordon, Brad and wife Kourtnee of Strawn, K’Lynn and husband Jon Reynolds of Round Rock; grandchildren, Clayton Kline, Brady Kline, Tanner Spivy, Madison Todd, Brittany Couger, Emsley Bishop, Bruce Couger, Maverick Couger, River Reynolds, Olivia Reynolds, and Tilian Reynolds; step-children, Seth Caudle, Brittany Caudle, Justin Caudle, and Shea Caudle; father, Mack Couger; brothers, Randy Couger, Brian Couger, and Bo Couger; his many cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless friends.

Greg will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
