Cisco Writers Club holds its annual picnic Thursday, May 5, at 6:30 p.m. The event will be held at the Assembly of Yahweh Fellowship Hall, 109 County Road 280, Rising Star, ten miles south of Cisco. Everyone is invited. There is no charge.
Songwriting will the evening’s topic, with a variety of local songwriters sharing methods, inspiration and samples of their work. The format is very informal and unplugged.
Songwriting is one of many special forms of writing. It obviously depends on music, not just as a delivery vehicle, but as an integral part of the piece. It’s poetic in nature, meaning it demands compact, vivid imagery and emotional impact.
If you write songs, or just enjoy fresh, original music, join us this Thursday at 6:30 for a light supper followed by the stories, the inspiration and the craftsmanship of songwriting.
CWC members, please bring soups, salads, sandwiches or desserts to sustain ourselves and our musician friends.
