Eastland County – Construction will resume this week on SH 16 at the bridge over Bear Creek,
approximately one mile south of I-20.

TxDOT’s new contractor will continue the reconstruction of the bridge and construction of
approaches to the bridge. Traffic is being controlled by a temporary traffic signal.
It is anticipated that the project will be completed in January of 2025, weather permitting.
Motorists are reminded to use caution when driving through the work zone, obey warning and
speed limit signs, avoid distractions and to watch for crews and equipment.
