Olden – Charles Killingsworth 89, passed away peacefully in his home on June 17, 2024. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Edwards Funeral Home in Eastland with Larry Roberts officiating.

Charlie was born on August 6, 1934 in Farmersville, TX. He spent his whole life in service to the public. He retired from the Arlington, TX Fire Department after 34 years of service. He served the State of Texas as an Arson Investigator from 1984-1995 when he retired. Charlie taught at Texas A & M Fire School for 25 years, he also served in the National Guard from 1950 until 1994.

Charlie served as president of the Arlington Fire Department Chiefs Association, president of High Noon Optimist Club and president of the North Texas Investigators Association. He was a member of Texas Law Enforcement Intelligent Unit Association and served on the board of directors in 1991 and 1992 In-Firm Campaign Chairman for United Fund in Arlington, Texas. Charlie is a member of the Texas Sheriffs Association. He served with the American Heart Association and has given over five gallons of blood through Carter Blood Center.

Charlie has been a Mason for over 65 years and has instructed and put on all three degrees. He was a member of Eastland Masonic Lodge #467 AF & AM, Arlington Masonic Lodge #438 AF & AM and Breckenridge Masonic Lodge #492 AF & AM. Charlie was Master of Eastland Lodge in 2010 through 2012 and District Deputy Grand Master in 2013 and 2017. Charlie received the Golden Trowel Award in 2015.

Charlie will help friends and neighbors when called on, using his tractor or welder or just his labor.

Survivors include wife, JoAnn Killingsworth, several children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
