It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carroll Wayne Williams, who left us peacefully on December 9, 2024, at the age of 86. Carroll was born on March 16, 1938 to Ronnie Clifton Williams and Wanda LaVerne Abernathy.
Carroll graduated from Snyder High School in 1956
He enlisted in the United States Army in December 1963 and served in Korea until he was discharged as an E6 Staff Sargent in December 1966. After leaving the Army, Carroll spent two years at Sul Ross University before diving into a successful career as a commercial construction supervisor at Johnny Cooper Construction Company in Midland/Odessa area. He was known for his sharp skills on the job and his ability to bring out the best in his team.
Beyond his professional life, Carroll filled his days with passion-he loved building and racing cars, a hobby that brought him immense joy and an adrenaline rush like no other. Carroll was also a talented musician, often seen strumming his guitar at various musicals over the years, adding his unique flair to every performance.
Carroll loved his cousins. He used to say that while he was growing up, his dad moved them so often following jobs that he never got to have a best friend at school. He considered all his cousins his best friends.
Before his wife, Christine’s death in 2017, Carroll and Chris enjoyed many years of traveling all over the United States, England, and Spain.
Carroll is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 52 years, Christine White Williams, and one sister, Patsy Ruth McAffee.
Carroll is survived by his loving wife, Mary Waldrep Williams, who stood by his side throughout their journey together. They shared a bond that was filled with laughter, love, and countless beautiful moments.
He is also survived by his son, Kevin Wayne Williams (Patricia) of Austin TX, his daughter, Allison Roy (Kelan) of Eastland TX, his grandson, Kristian Alexander Williams of Lubbock, one brother, Larry Williams of Liberty Hill TX, a bonus daughter, Cari Goodman (Chuck) of Alvarado TX , three bonus grandsons Garrett Goodman and Micah Goodman of Alvarado TX, Joel Goodman (Monica) of Hillsboro TX, one bonus great grandson Maverick Isaiah Goodman of Hillsboro TX, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19th, at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Eastland Tx, officiated by Bro. Bob Farrell and Bro Jimmy Hatcher, where friends and family will gather to celebrate Carroll’s life and the impact he had on all who knew him. Everyone who touched his life is invited to join in honoring his memory. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 18th from 5:00PM until 7:00PM at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be; Alex Williams, Garrett Goodman, Joel Goodman, Micah Goodman, Randy Williams and Walter Williams.
