“Be Young, Be Foolish, and Be Happy!”
With a twinkle in her eye, Aleene Lawson, our beloved “domestic goddess,” took her final curtain call on December 22, 2024. Born August 24, 1949, in Charleston, South Carolina, and raised in the charming town of Mount Pleasant, Aleene brought her vibrant spirit and unconventional humor to Eastland, Texas.
A homemaker extraordinaire, Aleene poured her heart and soul into her family, her kitchen a stage for culinary delights, especially during the holidays. Her home, a haven of comfort, was adorned with her own creations – quilts as soft as clouds, crocheted wonders, and sewing projects that whispered of her boundless creativity.
Aleene, a true bibliophile and cinematic connoisseur, devoured books and movies with the same gusto she enjoyed sharing a pot of coffee and a good laugh with loved ones. The sweet sounds of Carolina beach music often drifted through her home, adding a joyful rhythm to her days. Her kindness knew no bounds; she’d give you the shirt off her back (and probably a warm hug to go with it) without a second thought. And let’s not forget her furry companions – her beloved cats, who were more like children to her.
Aleene leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, cherished by her adoring husband, Robert “Bob” Lawson; her children, Richie Geiger, Rachel Geiger, and Chris Lawson; and her three grandchildren, Antonio Geiger, Dezmon Geiger-Mole, and Davon “Tate” Geiger-Mole, each carrying a piece of her vibrant spirit within them.
Aleene’s spirit will shine brightly, a beacon of love and joy that will forever illuminate our lives. We’ll miss her dearly, but her memory will forever be woven into the fabric of our hearts.
Aleene was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard “Red” Wirth, Jr. and Ella “Gertie” Wirth.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home-Eastland.
