
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Guadalupe Bonilla, a beloved matriarch, who peacefully departed this life on April 5, 2025, at the age of 91, in Eastland, Texas.
Guadalupe was born on December 12, 1933, in Oginaga, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Ernesto Hernandez and Francisca Gallegos Hernandez. She devoted her life to her family as a homemaker, embodying strength and love. She was the loving wife of Felipe Bonilla, who preceded her in eternal rest.
As a devoted member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Guadalupe’s faith was a guiding light in her life, and she shared this love and dedication with her family and community.
Her legacy lives on through her children: Ruben Bonilla and his wife Maria, Rojelio Bonilla and his wife Taina, Elodia Prieto and her husband Auden, Rene Bonilla, Obdulia Sanchez and her husband Orlando, Maricela Medina and her husband Victor, and Olimpa Bonilla. Guadalupe also cherished her 20 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren, who were the joy of her life.
The family invites all to honor her memory during the following services: A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at Edwards Funeral Home in Eastland, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. on April 8 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. A burial will take place at Eastland City Cemetery following the Mass.
