Linda Beth Pierce, a cherished member of the Eastland community, passed away on November 12, 2024, at the age of 78 in Abilene. Born in Gorman, TX to Clinton Douglas Cate and Connie Faye(Barnett) Cate on October 27, 1946, Linda was a proud 1966 graduate of Carbon High School, the foundation upon which she built a life filled with love, dedication, and service.
On November 28, 1975, Linda married Jimmy Earl Pierce, in Eastland. Together, they shared a beautiful life. Linda’s love for her family shone brightly in all aspects of her life.
For 27 years, Linda served as the Eastland City Judge, exhibiting a profound commitment to justice and fairness, retiring in 2013.
Fond of nature and the outdoors, Linda found solace in camping, fishing, and tending to her vibrant flower garden. Her love for these simple pleasures reflected her appreciation for life’s beauty and the importance of finding joy in everyday moments.
A funeral service to honor Linda’s life and legacy will be held at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Eastland on November 16, 2024, at 2:00 pm with Pastor Chris Justice officiating. A visitation will be held on Friday, November 15, 2024 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Linda’s memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her.
Survivors include her son, Clinton Eugene “Gene” Thetford, grandsons, Damein Douglas Thetford and Mason Allen Thetford. And a host of extended family and friends.
Linda was preceded in death by: parents Clinton and Connie Cate, and husband, Jimmy Pierce.
