GORMAN – Beginning Monday, Feb. 19, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will begin relocation of water and sewer lines, followed by storm drainage construction, on FM 679 and FM 8, to prepare for reconstruction of SH 6 in Gorman, TX.

Crews will begin working on FM 679 and then on FM 8 in advance of the construction of the SH 6 project. Various daily lane closures will be necessary, and traffic delays are expected. Motorists are advised to plan additional time to arrive at their destination.

The SH 6 project will reconstruct the roadway, adding sidewalks, illumination and storm drain. Work is anticipated to be complete by late 2027, weather permitting.
