Kimberley Kay Reiser (aka Kim, Kimmy, Kimbo, Kimberley, KK, Klime, Sis, and Mom) passed away on November 22, 2023 at Harris Methodist Hospital in Ft. Worth, Texas following a ruptured brain aneurysm. Kim was born at the same hospital on June 21, 1959.
Kim attended school in Ft. Worth, and she graduated from Granbury High School after moving there with her family during her junior year. Kim attended cosmetology school, became a hairdresser, and worked alongside her mother at Jackie’s Hairstyling.
Kim was beautiful, fun-loving, and caring. She loved music (mostly rock-n-roll and 70s folk music), swimming, writing poetry, organizing, collecting things, and taking care of others. She especially loved dogs and cats…it would take another page to list all of the animals that she cared for and loved. She took care of friends in need, she was always willing to help others, and she was selfless when someone needed her. She could be stubborn and obstinate…especially when it meant protecting those she loved…but she had a heart of gold.
Kim is survived by her son, Michael Chas Schmieder; her sister, Samantha Allen; her brother, Dusty Moore; her sister-in-law, Jennifer Moore; and her niece, Alayna Moore. Kim is also survived by her extended family (and family of choice) with whom she was very close: Paul Rabyor, Don Kindle, Jan Moore Kadleck, Holly Moore, Hayley Moore Klearman, Mildred Goodwin, Ronnie Liberto, Pam Liberto Clark, and Candice Liberto-Lillard. Kim is predeceased by her mother, Jacquelyn Moore, her father, Butch Reiser, her grandfather, A.N. “Jack” Thomason, and her grandmother Mary Ruth Thomason. All of these deaths were extremely painful for Kim, and she missed each of them deeply until her death.
A graveside service is scheduled for Saturday, December 16, 2023 at 11:00am at Mt. Marion Cemetery in Strawn, Texas. Flowers may be sent to Edwards Funeral Home in Strawn, Texas; but in lieu of flowers, Kim would have really appreciated donations to the SPCA. A remembrance service, or “celebration of life,” will be held the first weekend in January 2024.
