UPDATE: 4/26/23 Eastland Police Department reports that William Clay Pitts is in custody.
Eastland Police Department would like to thank the public for all their help locating alleged suspect William Clay Pitts. Many leads were generated by the public which eventually lead to Clay Pitts arrest. Clay Pitts is being held in the Eastland County Jail on 4 charges with a total bond amount of $140,000.
The victim Steve Broyles 54 of Eastland was transported to John Peter Smith Hospital in Ft. Worth with a gunshot wound to the face and neck where he is currently listed in stable condition.
Eastland PD Chief Pitts and Capt. Wilson would like to thank Texas DPS, Texas Rangers, Eastland County Sheriff’s Office, Cisco PD and Ranger PD for their assistance. EPD would also like to extend a special thank you to Abilene Swat Team for their specialized assistance on Tuesday night.
