The City of Strawn has announced detour routes on Highway 16 due to a film project. Filming is about to begin for a new Taylor Sheridan series being filmed in Strawn. Construction crews have been working to transform downtown Strawn into a late 1880s look, complete with dirt streets, wooden sidewalks, and wood-clad storefronts. Filming has not yet begun but Hwy 16 in downtown Strawn is being covered in dirt in preparation for filming which will create the need for the detour.

Detour routes from the City of Strawn:

Due to the film project, Highway 16 has been re-routed around downtown Strawn. Northbound traffic will turn east in front of Pac & Sac convenience store then immediately back to the north to access Houston Avenue. Once past the Baptist Church, you may turn west on Church street to regain access to Highway 16 north. Southbound traffic will turn west on Church street, turn south at the next block on Hinkson Avenue. When Hinkson terminates into North Front Street, turn left to re-connect to Highway 16.
