Larry Joe Van Zandt was born in Abilene, Texas, February 1, 1958 and went to be with the Lord February 11, 2023 at home on his farm surrounded by his family.  He is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn Van Zandt, sisters Paula Overmeyer and Theresa Van Zandt, daughter Lauren Petree and husband Joey Petree, and son Trevor Van Zandt and wife Samantha along with his grandchildren Ella and Henry Petree, and Isaac, Faith, and Adalee Van Zandt.

Larry’s family moved to Garland, Texas once he was born until returning to Eastland when he was 15 years old where he’d meet the love of his life, Marilyn. They were married May 19, 1977 at the First Presbyterian Church in Eastland, Texas. Larry was a cattle rancher, but moved the family to Arlington, Texas and pursued a career in the car business. He was very successful and later moved into the position as the Internet Director. He left the car business to pursue his own business as an Internet Marketer. This served him well many years until he decided to take on a new business adventure in foundation repair. He and his son Trevor have successfully run Pier King Foundation Repair for the past 10 years while living in Oklahoma. He retired and was able to go back to his dream of having a farm and running his cattle. Larry was a selfless man who would give anything he had to help someone in need. His relationship with Jesus gave him a huge heart that caused him to always put others before himself. He’d opened up his family’s home many times throughout his life to those who’d found themselves needing a place to stay, without judgment, just love. He was a true friend to many. What gave him the most joy in life was his family. Family was everything to him and he’d give anything to ensure their happiness. He leaves a legacy of loved ones who adored him, family and friends, and he will be deeply missed.

A graveside service will be at the Eastland City Cemetery on February 17, 2023 at 10:30 AM.
