The Ranger Historical Preservation Society will host another BOOM-TOWN Market on August 13th in spite of the heat, and I wish we could say rain. We will be in the shaded area of the Open-Air Building.

If persistence pays off, then we will be a winner. This heat is taking its toll on public turnout, but we continue to have customers looking for a bargain along with phone calls and email requesting information. The Boom-Town Market interest continues to grow, and as cooler weather arrives more events are being planned during that time.

You may contact Justin at 254-210-1655 or Donna at 254-631-8912 for any questions or to make reservations.

We have a vendor who specializes in handcrafted leather, especially firearms holsters, cell phone holders and other creative works.

One vendor has an enclosed trailer full of nice household items including furniture, many collectible items and everyday useable items.

We will be selling “Best Fried Pies” and they really are! BFP are hand-made locally, right here in Ranger and is a family-owned and operated business. They offer 16 flavors: Buttermilk, Cherry, Apple, Apricot, Caramel Apple Pecan, Pecan, Peach, Lemon, and Pineapple and 7 flavors suggested to be served cold: Chocolate, Peanut Butter, Blueberry Cheesecake, Coconut, Cherry Cheesecake, Strawberry Cheesecake and Banana Pudding. If you would like to place an order with us prior to August 13th, call the numbers above and orders must be paid for in advance. All proceeds help with the operation and maintenance of the Ranger Historical Society.

The Ranger Historical Preservation Society meets on the 3rd Monday of each month and the public is always welcome to attend and join. Come for a visit and hear our plans for the rest of the year. We are in the process of making major improvements to the grounds plus more as the weather cools. We are also planning our fall events and believe we have some exciting and fun events for the community of Ranger and surrounding area. Let’s have fun together. Our next meeting will be on Monday August 15th at 7:00 p.m. at the Ranger College Library. Thank you, Helen Cozart, for the invitation. We welcome the public to come join us and learn what the Ranger Historical Preservation Society provides for our community.
