Eastland Grand Jury Returns 37 Indictments

After convening on March 9, 2009 in the Eastland County Courthouse, an Eastland County Grand Jury of twelve citizens returned 37 indictments and one no bill.  One persons were indicted for Driving While Intoxicated – With Child Passenger, eight persons were indicted for burglary offenses, two for theft related offenses, three persons for sexual assault of a child, one person for endangering a child, two for tampering with evidence, one for indecency with a child, one for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, six persons for possession of controlled substances, four for assaultive offenses – family violence, one for violation of a protective order, and two for money laundering.  The February Term of the Grand Jury covers the months of February and March.  Indictments are not made public until after an arrest or service of the indictment is made on the accused.
