Collene Childers Pointer was born December 2, 1928 in Flomot, Tx.  She was the youngest child of Johnnie and Fannie Childers. She passed away November 8, 2009, in Lubbock, Tx.  She married the love of her life Billy Joe Pointer on December 23, 1944 in Silverton, Tx.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 42 years, one brother and one sister, twelve half brothers and sisters, one child Betty Collene Brown, and two grandchildren.

She is survived by two sisters, Reba Holcomb of Logan, N.M., and Elva Brogden of Cisco, Tx. and five children, Gary, Larry, Barry, Billie Finley, and Linda Wade, ten grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

She will be interred next to her husband at Oakwood Cemetery, Cisco, Tx., at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, November 12, 2009.  Visitation at Kimbrough Funeral Home will be Wednesday, November 11, 2009, between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
